Sarra Hornby is a visual artist, Illustrator, animator and film maker.She produces simple, tactile, "real-space", animation and illustration.
Using the medium of cut paper and sewing thread together with techniques developed in 3Ds Max, Adobe CS4 Production Premium suite; she forms an original response to the commercial brief.
Inspiration is drawn from the fields of Quantum Physics, String Theory and Ecology. Artists she admires are Theo Yansen, William Kentridge, Stefan Sagmeister and Jan Svankmajer.
Sarra's work has been screened at the British Museum, London, China and Taiwan.
Her Animated short "String Feary" won a D&AD 2009 Student Yellow Pencil. Sarra also received a NADFAS award for her animation production work in 2009. (See Showreel)
