Digishorts 2009 Opens It's Doors
06/10/2009
Digishorts, the Screen WM scheme which has produced such animated local favourites as Momster, The Animal Book, and The Beloved Ones, as well as The Brothers McLeod's latest effort Moon Bird, is back for 2009-10.
The past two years, applications for animated shorts were channelled through 4mations, but due to Channel 4's cuts, animated shorts will now be channelled through the central Digishorts scheme again.
The scheme can support the production of 6 short films by filmmaking talent in the West Midlands, with production funding of up to £10,000.
"We're seeking fresh filmmaking by the best and brightest in the region. The scheme is open in genre, and films can be live-action, animation or documentary. As long as they meet the entry requirements, we'll look at them," according to the website.
Details of how to apply can be found on this webpage, with the deadline for submissions set at 5pm on Monday 9th November 2009.
