AFWM Event: Barry Purves at Flatpack Festival

On 27th March as an AFWM event, part of this years Flatpack Festival 2010 legendary stop-motion animator Barry Purves looks at stop-motion animation. He discusses why, for him and so many, it's still a unique and exciting art form
Over the last quarter of a century, Barry has animated and directed many prominent television series such as The Wind in the Willows, Rupert Bear, Bob the Builder and worked on feature films like Mars Attacks and King Kong. His own, often controversial, animated films have won over sixty major international awards and received OSCAR and BAFTA nominations.
Barry teaches and gives master classes around the world, including running regular courses at the National Film and Television School. His second book 'Basics Animation: Stop-motion' is released in early April.
This must-see event, brought to you by Animation Forum West Midlands and Flatpack Festival 2010, takes place at The Bond, 180-182 Fazeley Street, Birmingham, B5 5SE between 11am and 1pm and is open to anyone aged 15 or above.
