As part of the festival, Animation Forum WM will be running a fantastic Storyboarding Masterclass on the opening day with one of the UK's leading artists, followed by a complimentary networking lunch.

The West Midlands' newest animation festival, Stoke Your Fires, takes place at Stoke-on-Trent's Potteries Museum & Art Gallery in Hanley, running from Thursday, 15th to Sunday, 18th May 2008.

Whichever medium of animation you specialise in, and whether you're artistically or commercially inclined, storyboarding is an essential practice to master.

The Storyboarding Masterclass will be delivered by David Aldred, renowned storyboard artist behind the film Eragon and TV adverts such as the popular VW Lupo TV advert which featured "the mad baby rampaging through a hospital."

The Masterclass will run from 12.00 until 1.00pm on Thursday 15th May in the Exhibition Room of the Potteries Museum, and will be followed immediately by an Animation Forum WM Lunch for all your networking needs.

To attend the event, you'll need to buy a single or two-day festival pass to Stoke Your Fires. Festival passes for the Thursday or Friday of the festival are priced at £18 (£14 conc.) per day, or £30 for both industry days (£23 conc.). The weekend half of the festival is public access and free entry.
