Animation Galore At Hello Digital Festival

Michal Makarewicz, award-winning animator on Pixar features such as The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille and Wall-E will be 'in conversation' on 24th October as part of Birmingham's Hello Digital Festival.
The free event takes place at 3.45pm at Think Space at Millennium Point in the second city.
Makarewicz was awarded an Annie in 2008 for Outstanding Character Animation in a Feature Animation for his work on Ratatouille. In addition to this, he has also taiught animation classes at popular, online school Animation Mentor and Academy of Art University. He's also heavily involved in the Spline Doctors blog, and can be found here.
Also of animation note during the festival are Gaming Gets Serious (11am, 23rd October), a serious games session; Stop Frame Animation (10am-4pm, 24th, Hereford College of Arts), a class by Prymedia in making stop-motion on a low budget; 4Talent's Inspiration Sessions (23rd – 26th); Animating Photos Workshop (10am-4pm, 25th, Hereford College of Arts), how to animate using images in Photoshop CS3; and the 4IP regional launch (24th, 10am), a Channel 4 funding pot for cross-media production (which has just "reduced its planned investment of up to £20m in the 4iP fund").
