Birmingham City University, formerly University of Central England, Birmimgham, is a large, diverse, historic provider of higher and further education for the people of Birmingham and beyond.

Animation Forum West Midlands is managed and facilitated by Birmingham City University.

Digital Central is a regional development project that helps the West Midlands be nationally and internationally recognised for its digital media and music sectors. That includes Film, Television, Animation, Interactive Media, Computer Games, Digital Imaging, Music and Radio. As part of this remit, they fund Animation Forum West Midlands.

Their aim is to develop an enterprise culture for cluster businesses that will help accelerate economic growth and increase employment through the promotion of innovative new ideas, the development of new market opportunities and the nurturing of a new generation of cluster entrepreneurs. The project represents a major collaboration between the regional development agency, the private sector and higher education.

Digital Central undertakes activity against three key strategic themes: networking, showcasing and innovation.

Since launching in November 2003 as a quarterly social for London's animators, Festivus have built links with the British Animation Awards, Skillset and now Animation Forum WM, creating their own website stock full of nation-wide animation jobs along the way.

Bangblast! is a forum for animators in the East Midlands. We provide a regional platform to promote all types of animation at the twice yearly Bang! Short Film Festival.

Bang Short Film festival is the premier non-competitive short film festival in the East Midlands. It is a twice yearly event and we are looking for animation, comedy, drama, documentary or experimental. Submission is open to everybody.
