Animation Forum West Midlands members can get up to 70% off the cost of tickets to two back-to-back conferences for animation academics and professionals alike this September.

Birmingham City University's City North Campus is hosting both Animation Explosion 2011 and Online Mainline 2011 on the 14th and 15th September respectively.

Animation Explosion 2011 features a keynote talk and roundtable discussion by Professor Paul Wells of Loughborough University, as well as papers presented throughout the day on animation theory.

The following day, Online Mainline 2011, also at Birmingham City University's City North campus, has presentations on 'alternative media and remediation,' and includes a keynote by Dr Will Brooker entitled Now You're Thinking with Portals: Media Training for a Digital World.

Animation Forum WM's David Allen will also be giving a talk during Online Mainline on 'supporting real-world communities online,' as well as appearing on the roundtable discussion during Animation Explosion.

Both events cost £40, plus £1.65 booking fee, to attend (£20 + £1.15 booking fee for students / unwaged), but Animation Forum WM members can purchase tickets online for as little as £15 (plus £1.02 booking fee).

There will also be an evening meal at the end of both days for an additional cost.
